India Slams Switzerland, Pakistan at UNHRC after both countries raised criticism against New Delhi at the Human Rights Council. Speaking at the 5th Meeting of the 60th UNHRC session, Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi strongly rejected Switzerland’s remarks on minorities and free speech.

Tyagi called Switzerland’s comments “surprising, shallow and ill-informed.” He reminded Geneva that as UNHRC president, it should avoid wasting time on false narratives. Instead, he urged Switzerland to focus on its own problems such as racism, systematic discrimination, and xenophobia. “As the world’s largest and most diverse democracy, India stands ready to help Switzerland address these concerns,” Tyagi said.

India Slams Switzerland, Pakistan at UNHRC in one of the sharpest speeches by Tyagi. He also delivered a blistering attack on Pakistan, calling it a “failed state” and a “dump truck of recycled lies.”

Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Tyagi said India needs no lessons from a sponsor of terrorism. He vowed India would protect its citizens and defend its sovereignty without compromise. This continues Tyagi’s track record of hard-hitting responses, including his February speech where he dismissed Pakistan’s claims on Jammu and Kashmir as “baseless and malicious.”
