India and the United States are working on an interim trade pact, and all key sensitive sectors are fully protected, said Commerce Secretary Rajest Agrawal. He spoke during trade discussions in Nuremberg, Germany, where both countries are negotiating the details of the agreement.

Agrawal said that the two sides have already issued a joint statement, and now officials are working to convert it into a legal agreement. This legal framework will make the trade pact official and enforceable.

He added that the agreement is expected to be finalised and signed before the end of March. The pact aims to strengthen trade between India and the U.S. while protecting sectors that are sensitive to competition.

The Commerce Secretary emphasized that the talks are positive and balanced, ensuring that both countries benefit. The agreement is seen as an important step toward improving bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
