India crushed the UAE by 234 runs in their opening match of the U-19 Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on Friday. The team posted a huge 433/6, their highest score in U-19 ODIs. India also became the first side to cross 400 three times in U-19 ODI history.
The star of the match was 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He smashed 171 from only 95 balls. His knock included 14 sixes and nine fours. It is the second-highest score by an Indian in a youth ODI. His 14 sixes are the most hit by any batter in one innings of the U-19 Asia Cup. He also set a new Asian record with 26 sixes in the tournament.
India’s innings gained more strength through Vihaan Malhotra and Aaron George. Both scored 69 runs and kept the scoring rate high. Ayush Mhatre, however, fell early after edging one to Aleh Amin off Yug Sharma.
UAE struggled throughout the chase and reached only 199/7 in 50 overs. India controlled the game from the start and never allowed pressure to slip.
The match took place at the ICC Academy Ground. India sit in Group A with Pakistan and Malaysia in the eight-team event.
