Eight fishermen from Vizianagaram district have reportedly been detained by the Bangladesh Navy, after unintentionally crossing into their territorial waters during deep-sea fishing. Andhra Pradesh Minister Atchannaidu stated that the State Government has already begun efforts to bring them back safely.

A formal letter has been sent to the Government of India, and discussions are underway through the Ministry of External Affairs with authorities in Bangladesh. The Minister assured that the families need not panic, as the government is closely monitoring the situation and extending full support.

He further added that the issue will be pursued diplomatically, and all necessary steps will be taken to ensure the safe return of the fishermen at the earliest.
