The United States government issues H1-B visas every year to attract skilled foreign professionals, particularly in technology, engineering, finance, and healthcare sectors. Among all nationalities, Indians dominate the H1-B visa category. Reports reveal that 72% of the total visas issued so far have gone to Indian professionals, amounting to 3,20,791 visas.
China stands second with 55,038 visas , which accounts for 12.5% . Canada follows with around 4,235 visas (1%) , while South Korea has 4,097 visas (0.9%). Additionally, 3,501 visas (0.8%) were issued to applicants from other countries.
These numbers highlight India’s strong presence in the US job market, especially in the IT and software industry. The demand for Indian professionals continues to grow, making them the largest group benefitting from the H1-B program. This dominance reflects India’s skilled workforce and its critical role in driving America’s technological and economic growth.
