Indore Water Crisis Rahul Gandhi has intensified political heat in Madhya Pradesh after deaths linked to contaminated drinking water. The Congress leader attacked the BJP government and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the issue.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said Indore did not receive water but poison. He accused the administration of remaining asleep while families mourned loved ones. He said poor residents suffered most and deserved accountability, not arrogance from leaders. He questioned why repeated complaints about foul-smelling water went unheard.

Rahul Gandhi asked how sewage entered drinking water pipelines and why officials failed to stop supply in time. He demanded action against responsible officers and leaders. He said clean water is a right, not charity, and accused the BJP’s “double-engine” government of killing that right through negligence. He linked the incident to other governance failures in Madhya Pradesh.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also criticised the BJP. He questioned claims of the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Kharge said people in India’s “cleanest city” still lack safe water. He accused the government of hollow promises and corruption.

The BJP has not issued a detailed response yet. Meanwhile, the Indore water contamination case continues to trigger outrage and political confrontation.
