Interlinking of Rivers Key to Tackling Drought in A.P., Says CM Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated that the interlinking of major rivers is essential to addressing recurring drought conditions in the State. Speaking at a public meeting in Nallajerla, he said the initiative would ensure equitable water distribution, boost irrigation, and secure year-round water availability for farmers.
Mr. Naidu also announced that MSME parks will be established in every Assembly constituency to promote agri-based industries, generate employment, and strengthen rural economies. These parks, he said, would help farmers move up the value chain by enabling processing, storage, and marketing of agricultural produce.
Reassuring the farming community, the Chief Minister stated that power tariffs for the agriculture sector would not be increased, underscoring the government’s commitment to reducing input costs. He added that the administration would continue to prioritise farmer welfare through sustainable water management and industry-linked development initiatives.
