Is Voter Adhikar Yatra making a difference on the ground in Bihar

Is Voter Adhikar Yatra making a difference on the ground in Bihar? Rahul Gandhi’s campaign travelled 1,300 kilometres across 25 districts to highlight alleged ‘vote chori’ and flaws in the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The yatra brought INDIA bloc partners together and relied heavily on social media to reach young voters. Leaders linked voter roll deletions to fears of losing access to welfare schemes, striking a chord with many households. Is Voter Adhikar Yatra making a difference on the ground in Bihar became a central talking point throughout the march.

On the ground, enthusiasm was visible. But Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were stretched, and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) stayed disengaged. Many citizens felt anxious about their inclusion in the voter lists. Communication gaps deepened fears of disenfranchisement and left communities uncertain about their status.

Observers say the yatra has succeeded in sparking public debate. Its long-term impact, however, depends on whether voter grievances are resolved before elections. For now, it has drawn attention to flaws in Bihar’s electoral rolls and intensified the political contest in the state.
