Israel Spy Satellite Launch Ofek 19 Expands Middle East Surveillance

Israel Spy Satellite Launch

Israel advanced its defence strategy with the Israel spy satellite launch Ofek 19. Military leaders described the satellite as a “strategic cornerstone” that will expand Israel’s surveillance capacity across the Middle East.

The launch took place on Tuesday night, and officials confirmed its success the next day. Defence Minister Israel Katz declared that the new satellite sends a strong warning: “We are keeping an eye on our enemies at all times and in all situations.”

The Ofek 19 satellite can capture thousands of high-resolution images. Earlier this year, Israel gathered 12,000 images over Iran during a 12-day war, and Ofek 19 will strengthen that capability. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel faces a “seven-front war,” with operations in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Gaza. The satellite will support these ongoing missions with real-time intelligence.

Major General Amir Baram explained that the satellite fits into a broader plan to maintain constant surveillance anywhere in the Middle East. Israel Aerospace Industries built Ofek 19, adding to its record of producing satellites, drones, missile systems, and aircraft for Israel and international buyers.
