Jacobabad Airbase Post Strike Inspections Reveal Ongoing Damage Review

Jacobabad

New satellite images show that Pakistan’s Jacobabad Airbase continues to undergo detailed structural inspections six months after Operation Sindoor. Defence analyst Damien Symon shared the latest visuals and noted steady dismantling of a major hangar that Indian forces struck in May 2025. He said the removed roof sections suggest engineers are checking internal damage before they begin repairs.

Recent frames show workers taking apart the outer shell of the hangar in phases. The pattern matches standard post-strike assessment steps. Officials expect full repairs only after the technical team completes its evaluation. Their slow and careful approach signals the hangar’s high value to Pakistan’s military leadership.

High-resolution Maxar images from May had already highlighted serious destruction across several Pakistani airbases. They showed runway craters, ruined hangars, and damaged support buildings at Sukkur, Nur Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Mushaf, Jacobabad, and Bholari. Officials said the accuracy of the strikes pushed the Shehbaz Sharif government to seek a ceasefire within three days.

Jacobabad Airbase remains one of Pakistan’s most strategic hubs. It hosts JF-17 Block II jets, multiple F-16 variants, and AW139 helicopters. Pakistani reports also note foreign contractors who support F-16 maintenance. The ongoing inspections show how Pakistan continues to assess long-term damage at this critical site.
