Visakhapatnam: During his visit to Narsipatnam, former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met with the workers of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, who submitted a representation outlining their concerns. Jagan assured the workers that the YSRCP would stand firmly by their side in their struggle to protect the plant.
He reiterated that his party’s stance remains unchanged — whether in power or in opposition — and emphasized that he is ready to take part in any movement necessary to safeguard the steel plant from privatization.
Jagan reminded that, during his tenure as Chief Minister, the state government had passed a resolution in the Assembly opposing privatization and had also written to the Prime Minister urging the Centre to reconsider its decision. He called on all stakeholders to unite in defense of the steel plant, describing it as a symbol of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial pride.
