External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar strongly criticised China over the alleged harassment of an Arunachal Pradesh woman.
He said such tactics cannot change reality on the ground.
Jaishankar reaffirmed that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and will always remain so.

The incident surfaced in November.
The woman alleged that Chinese immigration officials harassed her at Shanghai airport.
She claimed officials refused to recognise her Indian passport due to her Arunachal origin.

Speaking at an event at IIT Madras in Chennai, Jaishankar said India raised strong objections with China.
He stated that international travel runs on clear rules and mutual respect.
He added that all countries must follow established norms for the movement of people.

Jaishankar described China’s actions as deliberate tactics.
He stressed that such actions cannot alter facts or India’s territorial position.
He said India’s response on the issue remained firm and clear.

During the interaction, Jaishankar also spoke on broader foreign policy challenges.
He referred to security threats from neighbouring countries.
He said India holds the right to self-defence against terrorism.
He added that India alone decides how to protect its people and interests.

The remarks underline India’s tough diplomatic stance on sovereignty and citizen rights abroad.
