Terra Drone Indonesia Fire: Major Blaze in Jakarta Kills 20

A Terra Drone Indonesia fire in central Jakarta killed 20 people after a seven-storey office building caught fire.

A Terra Drone Indonesia fire broke out on Tuesday in central Jakarta, killing 20 people. The Terra Drone Indonesia fire began around midday on the first floor and spread quickly to the top of the seven-storey office building. Many employees were having lunch, and some had stepped out of the office when the flames erupted.

Firefighters reached the spot within minutes and controlled the blaze. Police chief Susatyo Purnomo Condro said rescue teams are still checking every floor for survivors and victims. Crews continue to cool the building to stop fresh flare-ups.

The building houses Terra Drone Indonesia, a company that provides drone technology for aerial surveys in mining, agriculture and other industries. It is the Indonesian arm of Japan’s Terra Drone Corporation.

Kompas TV showed firefighters pulling people out and carrying body bags from the site. Thick smoke filled the sky as some workers climbed down portable ladders from upper floors.

Officials say the cause of the fire is still unknown. Terra Drone Indonesia and its parent company have not responded to requests for comment.
