Williams team principal James Vowles praised Alex Albon’s “outstanding” 2025 Formula 1 season, crediting his growing confidence and leadership for the team’s resurgence. Albon sits eighth in the Drivers’ Championship with 70 points from 11 top-ten finishes, helping Williams climb to fifth in the Constructors’ standings. His new teammate Carlos Sainz has scored 32 points so far.

Speaking on the Beyond The Grid podcast, Vowles said Albon’s progress since joining the team reflects a balance of speed and mental strength. “Carlos is a strong reference, and Alex has delivered whenever results were available,” Vowles noted, highlighting the Thai-British driver’s consistency and determination.

Vowles said Albon’s confidence has been the key factor this season. He described how the driver’s calm focus and direction have guided engineers to improve the car’s performance. “He’s completely confident in himself and the car. His feedback helps us move forward faster,” Vowles said.

Albon also praised Williams’ collective effort, calling this his best Formula 1 season. Vowles commended Albon’s teamwork and willingness to help Sainz adapt to the car, noting his clear communication and growing leadership within the team.
