Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party has taken a bold step in Bihar politics. The party gave a ticket to Preeti Kinnar, a third gender candidate, from the Bhore seat in Gopalganj. This seat is reserved for the SC category.
Jan Suraj announced its first list with 51 names for the Bihar Assembly elections. Party chief Uday Singh said this decision shows their goal of equality and inclusion. Preeti Kinnar has worked with Jan Suraj for a long time and enjoys local support.
Her main opponent will be Sunil Kumar, the Education Minister from JDU. This fight will draw attention as it pits a minister against a third gender candidate. When her name was announced, supporters clapped with excitement.
Bihar has already given jobs to transgender people in the police force. Many work as sub-inspectors and constables. Now, Jan Suraj has opened the door for their role in politics.
Prashant Kishore’s team has shown that respect and opportunity can go together. This move adds a new page to Bihar’s political story.
