Jan Suraj files petition in High Court against Bihar election results, escalating its legal battle after facing a setback in the Supreme Court. The party has now approached the Patna High Court, seeking cancellation of the 2025 Assembly polls.
Jan Suraj files petition in High Court against Bihar election results, claiming that the state government violated the Model Code of Conduct. The party alleged that financial benefits given to women under a government scheme influenced voters during the election period.
Party leaders said the scheme offered ₹10,000 to women just before elections, which they believe affected voting decisions. They argued this makes a strong legal case for cancelling the results.
Earlier, the Supreme Court refused to hear the matter and advised the party to approach the High Court instead. The court also said it cannot cancel an entire election based on a plea from a political party.
Jan Suraj had contested all seats in the election but failed to win any.
