Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party plans to end the Bihar liquor ban if it wins the 2025 elections. Party chief Uday Singh said this move will save ₹28,000 crore every year. He claimed that the money now lost to illegal trade will instead help Bihar grow.
Speaking in Patna, Singh said the ban failed and only strengthened the liquor mafia. He promised that ending the Bihar liquor ban will create jobs and boost the economy. The saved money will attract global aid worth ₹5–6 lakh crore for Bihar’s development.
The Jan Suraj Party has released its first list of candidates. It plans to contest all 243 Assembly seats in the coming Bihar elections.
