Tokyo/Chandigarh: On the second day of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Japan visit, a major breakthrough was achieved for the state’s industrial growth. Japan-based Toppan Speciality Films Private Limited (TSF) announced an investment of ₹400 crore in Punjab. The MoU between TSF and Invest Punjab was formally signed in the presence of the Chief Minister.

This investment is part of TSF’s expansion strategy and is expected to accelerate industrial development in Punjab. As per the agreement, a Skill Excellence Centre will be established in the state to provide advanced technical training to skilled and semi-skilled youth. The initiative aims to enhance employability by aligning youth skills with industry requirements.

CM Mann stated that the collaboration will strengthen skill development while opening new avenues for apprenticeships and job placements. The Punjab government has assured TSF of complete support in industrial cooperation, technical training, curriculum design, and other necessary assistance.

The project is expected to give a strong boost to Punjab–Japan cooperation in industry and energy sectors.
