Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump have reignited their long-running feud. The latest exchange came after Trump attacked the late-night host on social media. He called Kimmel “a man with no talent” and claimed his ratings were poor. Trump also urged ABC to remove him from the air.
Kimmel addressed the criticism during Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. He joked that Trump should know more about bad ratings than anyone. The host also noticed the timing of Trump’s online post, which appeared only minutes after the show aired on the East Coast. He thanked the president for watching live instead of on YouTube.
The comedian continued by referencing Trump’s current controversies. He said it was impressive that Trump had time to post online while facing major political scandals. Kimmel also shared that he woke up to his wife informing him that Trump wanted him fired again. He joked that he simply went downstairs afterward and made bagels for his children.
The two have clashed before. ABC briefly suspended Kimmel in September after remarks he made following the killing of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk. Trump celebrated the suspension. Kimmel said he would leave when Trump leaves and closed with a joke referencing Trump’s recent “quiet, piggy” remark to a reporter.
