Jitan Ram Manjhi clarifies video claiming win election after losing by 2700 votes after a clip went viral on social media and sparked a political controversy. In the video, the Union minister appears to say that a candidate who lost by around 2,700 votes later won the election with his help. The clip drew sharp reactions from opposition parties.
Manjhi strongly denied the allegations. He said the video was edited and taken out of context. According to him, he was only explaining the legal process of vote recounting during the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.
He stated that his party had requested a recount from the district administration at that time. After the recount, the final result changed and his party’s candidate was declared the winner. He stressed that this process followed election rules and involved no wrongdoing.
Opposition leaders accused Manjhi of misusing influence and questioned the fairness of elections. They demanded clarification from the Election Commission and raised the issue in public forums.
Manjhi dismissed the charges and said rivals were spreading false narratives to damage his image. He urged people to rely on facts and official records instead of viral clips.
