J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday reopened 12 tourist spots that were closed after the Pahalgam attack in April this year. Chairing the Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan Srinagar, he said the decision will revive tourism and strengthen public confidence in Jammu and Kashmir.

Tourism remains a major source of livelihood in the region. Therefore, the reopening of 12 tourist spots is a welcome step for both visitors and locals. Manoj Sinha highlighted that the reopening of 12 tourist spots reflects improving security and the government’s focus on peace.

According to officials, five sites lie in the Jammu division and seven in the Kashmir division. Popular places like Aru Valley, Rafting Point Yanner, Akkad Park, Padshahi Park, Bijbehara, and Dara Shikoh Garden are now open to tourists. These attractions draw thousands of travelers every year, and their revival will help local businesses.

Local traders and hoteliers welcomed the decision. They believe it will attract more tourists during the festive season. Residents also expressed hope that the move will showcase stability and progress in the Union Territory.

The Lieutenant Governor assured that strict security measures will remain in place. He urged people across India and abroad to visit Jammu and Kashmir, enjoy its beauty, and support local communities.
