Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a major update on Journalists Housing Plots in the state. He said the government will soon take a final decision to resolve the long-pending issue of housing plots for journalists.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists, the Chief Minister said the Journalists Housing Plots issue will be discussed in detail at the state cabinet meeting scheduled on the 21st of this month. He explained that cabinet approval is necessary to ensure the decision becomes legally valid and free from future disputes.
Revanth Reddy also said the government aims to complete the process before June 2, the Telangana Formation Day. Eligible journalists are expected to receive benefits once the cabinet approves the plan.
The government is also considering developing proper layouts with roads, electricity, water supply, and other basic infrastructure so that journalists do not face additional financial burden. A cabinet sub-committee will study the issue and submit a report before the final decision.
Journalists’ associations welcomed the announcement and expressed hope that the long-pending demand will finally be fulfilled.
