K. Kavitha: ‘Speaking Truth Cost Me My Place in BRS’
K. Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) founder K. Chandrashekar Rao, is carving out her own political path after being suspended from the BRS. Speaking at The Indian Express’s Idea Exchange, Kavitha said she was ousted for speaking out against “coterie politics” within the party. A key figure in the Telangana statehood movement, Kavitha has long been seen as a force-multiplier for the BRS. However, she claims her straightforward approach and resistance to inner-party manipulation led to her removal. “I call a spade a spade,” she said, adding that she intends to continue her public service independently. Kavitha’s political future remains a subject of close attention in Telangana, especially as she hints at launching her own platform. Her remarks reflect both disillusionment with party politics and determination to remain a voice in the state’s evolving political landscape.
