K.T. Rama Rao Alleges Congress Govt. Targeting MANUU, ISB Lands for Commercial Use
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday accused the Telangana Congress government of targeting lands belonging to prominent educational institutions, including the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and the Indian School of Business (ISB), after allegedly attempting to acquire lands from PJTSAU and the University of Hyderabad (UoH) in the past.
Speaking in Hyderabad, Mr. Rama Rao claimed that the Revanth Reddy-led government was acting like a “real estate broker,” aiming to resume university lands and monetise them for commercial purposes. He alleged that such moves undermine the autonomy of academic institutions and could negatively impact research, education, and public trust.
He urged the state government to reconsider its approach and focus on supporting higher education rather than encroaching on institutional land for short-term financial gains. Rama Rao also called on students, faculty, and citizens to be vigilant against policies that, he said, threaten the independence and credibility of Telangana’s premier universities.
