K.T. Rama Rao Questions by SIT in Alleged Phone-Tapping Case
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on January 23, 2026, in connection with the alleged phone-tapping case. He arrived at the SIT office in Hyderabad amid heavy police security arrangements.
The SIT is investigating claims that phones of political leaders, officials, and others were illegally tapped during the previous government’s rule. KTR was summoned as part of the probe to record his statement and clarify his role, if any, in the case.
A large number of police personnel were deployed in and around the area to maintain law and order. Supporters and party workers gathered nearby but were kept under control by the police.
KTR has denied any wrongdoing and said he would cooperate fully with the investigation. The SIT continues to question several officials and collect evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry into the serious allegations.
