Kanaka Durga Temple Observes 44th Bhavani Deeksha with Kalasha Jyoti Procession

The 44th annual Kalasha Jyoti procession was held at the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada, commemorating the longstanding tradition of Bhavani Deeksha. Observed since 1981, the Bhavani Deeksha is a spiritual practice conducted under the guidance of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peethadhipatis, emphasizing devotion, discipline, and community participation.
Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the procession, which featured the ceremonial carrying of the Kalasha (sacred pot of consecrated water and offerings) around the temple premises. The event was marked by chanting of hymns, devotional music, and rituals designed to invoke blessings for prosperity and well-being.
Temple authorities highlighted that the Bhavani Deeksha continues to inspire spiritual discipline and devotion among followers. The event not only strengthens religious and cultural ties but also reinforces the significance of preserving sacred traditions across generations. The Kalasha Jyoti procession remains one of the most anticipated and revered annual observances at the temple.
