PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said again that Kashmiris shouldn’t be punished collectively after the Delhi blast. She visited Babanagri Wangat on Thursday to comfort the family of Bilal Ahmad Sangoo. The youth died in the blast outside the Red Fort. Mehbooba said the community feels hurt and worried.

She met the family and prayed for Bilal. She said the incident was tragic and the family needs full support. She asked the government to help them during this difficult time. She added that the loss has shaken many people.

Mehbooba told reporters that those involved in crimes must face strict action. But she said innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir should not face harassment or discrimination. She warned that unfair behaviour creates fear and divides people.

She asked the government to protect Kashmiri students, workers and travellers in other states. She also said she hopes Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will speak to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. She added that every Kashmiri deserves safety, respect and dignity.
