Katihar Student Death has caused shock in a railway colony in Bihar. The incident created tension in the area after a 15-year-old girl was found hanging in her railway quarter room. Residents said the student returned from school, went to her room, and later took the extreme step. The girl studied in a local government school and lived with her father, Manohar Prasad, a railway employee. Her mother died of cancer a few years ago. Neighbours said the father is heartbroken and unable to speak after the tragedy.
Police from the Sahayak station reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Officers also found a suicide note that reportedly mentioned a boy’s name, adding a new angle to the case.
To understand whether it is suicide or something else, police are questioning relatives and residents. The investigation continues. SHO Anand Kumar said the post-mortem report will guide further action. Police will file a case after receiving the family’s statement.
