Kavitha Calls for Balance Between Welfare and Development, Alleges Misogyny in BRS Action
Former BRS leader K. Kavitha has said that while the BRS government implemented several good welfare schemes, there is a thin line between welfare and development that needs careful balance. Speaking in New Delhi, she said welfare measures should support long-term development rather than replace it.
Kavitha stated that development projects, job creation, and economic growth must go hand in hand with welfare programmes to ensure sustainable progress. She added that governments should focus on empowering people instead of making them dependent on schemes.
Referring to the action taken against her by the BRS, Kavitha alleged that a significant level of misogyny played a role in the party’s decision. She said women leaders often face unfair treatment and are judged more harshly than their male counterparts.
Kavitha stressed the need for greater respect for women in politics and called for inclusive leadership that values diverse voices and opinions.
