The Telangana High Court heard petitions from Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and Minister Harish Rao seeking to cancel the PC Ghosh Commission report on Kaleshwaram. The court, however, refused to grant any interim relief.
It directed the Advocate General (AG) to submit a detailed counter-affidavit addressing the petitions. The court adjourned the next hearing for four weeks to allow time for the state government to prepare its response.
The AG told the court that the government plans to act only after the Legislative Assembly discusses the report. This indicates that the administration intends to follow a structured approach, considering the commission’s findings carefully before taking further steps.
The petitions challenge the validity and conclusions of the PC Ghosh Commission report, which has stirred political debate in Telangana. By asking for a full counter-affidavit, the High Court ensures the matter receives thorough judicial scrutiny before any decisions proceed.
