Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) registered a record ₹970.74 crore in liquor sales during the 12-day Onam festival. This marks a 9.34% increase compared to last year’s ₹842.07 crore. The data covers sales from August 25 to September 6, 2025.
The highest single-day sale came on September 4, Uthradam day, with ₹137.64 crore collected. September 3 and 2 followed with ₹96.52 crore and ₹90.43 crore, respectively. Till Uthradam day, KSBC sold liquor worth ₹826.38 crore.
Among outlets, the Karunagappally store, near Kollam warehouse, led with ₹1.46 crore in sales on Uthradam day. Kavanad Ashramam in Kollam sold ₹1.24 crore, while Kuttippala Edappal in Malappuram recorded ₹1.11 crore.
Kerala has 278 BEVCO outlets and 155 self-service stores. The outlets remained closed on Onam day itself. Consumerfed also operates liquor outlets across the state, though their sales data is yet to be released.
Kerala Bevco’s record sales during Onam demonstrate strong festive demand and contribute significantly to the state’s revenue, reflecting the growing popularity of Bevco outlets.
