Kerala SIT Makes Third Arrest in Sabarimala Temple Artefacts Case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the Kerala High Court has made its third arrest in the ongoing probe into the Sabarimala temple artefacts case. The arrested individual has been identified as D. Sudheesh Kumar, a former executive officer of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) who served at the temple in 2019. According to officials, Kumar is suspected of being involved in the disappearance and illegal handling of valuable artefacts belonging to the shrine. The SIT, which has intensified its investigation in recent weeks, is examining records and conducting forensic audits to trace the missing items and determine accountability among temple officials. Sources indicate that more arrests may follow as evidence is being cross-verified. The High Court had earlier directed the formation of the SIT after concerns were raised over the slow pace of the original inquiry and the protection of sacred temple assets.
