Senior BJP leader and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that the upcoming Telangana municipal elections will be a “bipolar contest” mainly between the BJP and Congress. He expressed confidence that the BJP is well-prepared to compete strongly across the state.
He said the elections are important because they will decide local governance in municipalities and municipal corporations, which manage water supply, sanitation, roads, and other civic services. Kishan Reddy claimed that the BJP has a clear strategy and strong candidates in key wards to challenge the ruling TRS and other parties.
He also encouraged voters to participate actively and said the BJP aims to provide better governance at the local level if elected. Political observers note that while TRS has been dominant, the contest is likely to intensify between BJP and Congress in several urban areas.
