Kishanganj Military Camp Land Acquisition Protests Shake Bihar Politics

Kishanganj military camp land acquisition protests by farmers and local leaders

Kishanganj military camp land acquisition protests have spread from Patna to Delhi, drawing national attention. During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Mohammad Javed raised the issue and urged the Centre to shift the proposed camp to another location in Kishanganj.

He said the land marked for acquisition belongs to farmers and lies in a densely populated area. He warned that building the camp there would cause serious inconvenience to local people. Kishanganj military camp land acquisition protests reflect deep concerns over livelihoods and displacement.

Politics around the issue is heating up fast. AIMIM leaders have become very active, especially in Patna and Kishanganj. Bahadurganj MLA Tausif Alam recently met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demanded relocation of the proposed military station.

He said around 250 acres would be taken for the project. Local MLAs later met District Magistrate Vishal Raj and submitted a memorandum. They pointed out that the land is close to an Idgah, mosque, graveyard, and residential colonies.

The MLAs stressed that people in the area depend on farming and animal husbandry. Large-scale land acquisition could displace many families. While supporting national security needs, they demanded that authorities reconsider the site and identify alternative land.
