Kolkata Solar Company Wins ₹64.95 Crore Maharashtra Electricity Project

A Kolkata-based solar power solutions company has won a ₹64.95 crore contract from the Maharashtra State Electricity Board to implement a large-scale solar energy project. The project aims to expand renewable energy capacity in the state and provide affordable, sustainable power to communities and farmers. As part of the program, the company, Jupiter Solar, will also launch a farmer awareness initiative to educate beneficiaries about the benefits of solar energy and the scheme. The outreach will use WhatsApp messages, SMS campaigns, and regional engagement networks to ensure wide participation and understanding. The program is expected to help farmers reduce electricity costs, promote clean energy, and support Maharashtra’s goals of increasing renewable energy adoption. Officials emphasized that combining infrastructure development with education is critical for maximizing the impact of such government-backed renewable energy schemes. The project is slated to roll out in phases over the next year.
