A 23-kilometer solar-powered cycle track has been constructed near Narsingi, marking the first of its kind in India. Built by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at an estimated cost of ₹90 crore, the track has become a popular spot for devotees, children, and adults during holidays and weekends.
However, Telangana IT and Municipal Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has expressed concerns over the neglect and poor maintenance of the cycle track. He alleged that despite being a pioneering infrastructure project, the track is not being properly utilized or maintained, which undermines its potential benefits. The solar-powered cycle track was intended to promote eco-friendly transportation, fitness, and recreational activities, but KTR warns that without proper upkeep, the facility risks becoming ineffective and underutilized.
