Hyderabad: BRS Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticized the Congress government, accusing it of failing to fulfill its election promises. Speaking at a booth-level workers’ meeting in Vengalrao Nagar on the Jubilee Hills by-election, KTR said that before Telangana’s formation, Congress had left a backlog of ₹20,000 crore in fee reimbursement, which BRS cleared after coming to power.

He ridiculed Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s claim that the government lacked funds for fee reimbursement, calling it laughable.

KTR alleged that Congress leaders were diverting urea to the black market, highlighting shortages across the state. He warned that private colleges were on the verge of closure due to unpaid reimbursements, leaving SC, ST, BC, and minority students unable to obtain certificates. He added that while funds were unavailable for education, money was flowing freely for commissions and contracts, exposing the government’s misplaced priorities.
