LG India CSR Foundation launched in Vizag to promote healthcare, water facilities, and vocational training for nearby communities.

LG Polymers, the Indian arm of LG Chem, inaugurated the LG India CSR Foundation in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday. The initiative marks a significant move toward social responsibility and sustainable development in communities around the company’s plant.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief of Mission Sang-Woo Lim of the Korean Embassy, MP Sribharat, MLA Ganababu, Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankar Bhagchi, Korean Consul General Chang-Nyun Kim, and LG Chem’s Chief Sustainability Strategy Officer Yunju Ko.

The new foundation will focus on healthcare, clean drinking water, education, and vocational training. A drinking water facility has already been set up for nearby villages, while medical services have benefited over 6,500 residents. Vocational training programs in tailoring and beauty care are also being launched. The foundation’s office, equipped with classrooms, will host educational and cultural activities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lim highlighted that LG Chem’s CSR vision aligns with Korea’s broader partnership with India. He emphasized that the foundation would not only strengthen industrial cooperation but also promote inclusive growth and people-to-people connections. Officials expressed confidence that the initiative would serve as a model for sustainable community development in Andhra Pradesh.
