RSSB chairman Major General Alok Raj (Retd) has gone viral after a light-hearted exchange on X related to the state’s fourth-grade recruitment exam. The exam saw a staggering 24.75 lakh candidates appear for 53,749 posts, with results expected next month.
In a motivational post, Raj urged aspirants not to lose hope after repeated failures. Responding to him, candidate Anil Yadav humorously asked whether a fourth-grade job would make him eligible for marriage or if he should begin preparing for another job.
Raj’s witty reply won the internet: he assured Yadav that “a line of prospective brides” would form, noting that boys with government jobs are rare. He advised him to maintain his value—adding a playful reference to the famous aunt from Sholay.
Raj, a retired Army Major General, has chaired the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board since August 2023. Despite offering to resign after the BJP government took office, he was retained for his strong record, including 37 years of Army service. Under his leadership, RSSB has conducted 116 recruitment examinations without paper leaks or irregularities.
