Lokesh Predicts Trillion-Dollar Future for Vizag by 2047
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has declared that Visakhapatnam (Vizag) will become the State’s financial capital within the next decade. Speaking at a development meet, Lokesh emphasized that while it took over 30 years for Hyderabad to emerge as a major IT and financial hub, Vizag’s growth will be much faster. “With strategic planning and sustained investment, Vizag can reach similar heights in less than 10 years,” he said. Highlighting the government’s vision, Lokesh asserted that the city is poised to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2047. Key sectors such as information technology, fintech, tourism, and port-led development are expected to drive this transformation. The minister added that infrastructure expansion, digital innovation, and skill development initiatives are already underway to accelerate growth. The statement reinforces the state’s push to decentralize development and make Vizag a global investment destination in the years to come.
