LPG Prices Dip Again, Small Businesses Get Relief

OMCs reduce commercial LPG prices across metros, offering small relief to businesses; domestic LPG rates remain unchanged.

Oil marketing companies have reduced commercial LPG prices across major cities, giving slight relief to small and medium businesses. The new rates came into effect from Saturday.

After the latest revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder costs ₹1,590.50 in Delhi, down by ₹5. Kolkata saw the biggest drop of ₹6.50, with the new rate at ₹1,694. Chennai now charges ₹1,750, while Mumbai’s rate fell to ₹1,542.

Restaurants, hotels, and catering units that depend on LPG will benefit slightly from this cut. Domestic LPG rates remain unchanged. Earlier this year, OMCs reduced commercial cylinder prices by ₹51.50 in August, ₹33.50 in July, and ₹24 in June.

The Central government also announced 2.5 million free LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The move, part of the festive season drive, aims to help low-income families and promote clean cooking fuel in rural India.
