M.K. Stalin honours artistes with Muthamizh Peravai awards in Chennai
CM M.K. Stalin presented the Muthamizh Peravai awards to distinguished artistes at a ceremony held in Chennai on Monday. The awards recognise outstanding contributions to Tamil language, literature, and arts, celebrating individuals who have enriched Tamil culture through their work.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Stalin said Tamil thrives when its language, music, and arts grow together. He stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage while encouraging contemporary expression. He added that the State government remains committed to supporting artistes and scholars who dedicate their lives to Tamil.
Several artistes from different fields, including literature, classical music, theatre, and fine arts, received the honours. The Chief Minister congratulated the awardees and praised their role in taking Tamil culture to future generations. Senior ministers, writers, scholars, and cultural personalities attended the event. Officials said the Muthamizh Peravai awards are presented annually to recognise excellence and lifelong contribution to Tamil.
