Mangaluru Artist’s Gandhi Caricature Selected for International Exhibition
John Chandran, an art teacher at St. Aloysius High School, Mangaluru, has had his Mahatma Gandhi caricature selected for the Gandhi Memorial International Caricature Exhibition.
The event is organized by Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Karnataka, Indian Institute of Cartoonists, and Egypt Cartoon Platform. Over 100 caricatures from 31 countries will be featured.
The exhibition opens on October 4 at the Indian Institute of Cartoonists, Bengaluru.
Chandran is known for his cartoon series ‘Nimmi’, comics based on Tenali Rama, and has authored two cartoon books. His work reflects strong artistic and satirical style.

Suvarna Sadhaka Award District Best Teacher Award
District Rajyotsava Award
His selection brings international recognition not only to his talent but also to Indian cartooning on a global stage.
