Manish Kasyap Enters Politics, to Fight from Bihar’s Chanpatia Constituency
Popular social media influencer and YouTuber Manish Kasyap is set to enter politics, contesting from the Chanpatia seat in Bihar on a Jan Suraaj Party ticket. Known for his strong online presence and outspoken views, Kasyap’s political debut has drawn widespread attention.
In 2023, Kasyap was arrested by Tamil Nadu Police for allegedly spreading fake videos about attacks on Bihari migrants in the southern state. The incident sparked controversy and raised questions about the role of influencers in spreading misinformation.
Despite the controversy, Kasyap has maintained a strong following, especially among the youth. His decision to join the Jan Suraaj Party, led by political reformer Prashant Kishor, is seen as part of a larger effort to bring fresh faces into Bihar politics.
Kasyap says he wants to work for development and truth, and promises to raise local issues if elected. The Chanpatia contest is expected to be closely watched.
