Mann Announces Free Holy City Transport Services as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann revealed a major public mobility plan from Sri Anandpur Sahib. He said the government will soon roll out free mini-bus and e-rickshaw services across the three cities recently declared as Holy Cities—Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Talwandi Sabo.
Mann Announces Free Holy City Transport Services with the objective of improving accessibility for devotees, pilgrims, and residents. He said the initiative will make travel easier inside these spiritually significant cities, especially around major gurdwaras and important routes that witness high footfall.
Mann explained that the free transport network will focus on frequent, short-distance travel so that elderly people, women, students, and visiting pilgrims can move comfortably without depending on private vehicles. He said the plan also aims to reduce congestion and encourage environmentally friendly mobility.
The government will deploy mini-buses for wider routes and e-rickshaws for narrow lanes, heritage streets, and shrine-centric areas. Mann said the model reflects the government’s commitment to uplifting public amenities, strengthening last-mile connectivity, and promoting clean transport in sacred regions.
He added that the Holy City declaration of the three towns carries deep cultural and spiritual importance, and the transport initiative supports that vision by offering dignity, convenience, and free mobility to all visitors.
