Students in Meerut gained insights into India’s northeastern states through a cultural awareness programme. Arya Kanya Inter College in Mawana organised the event under the Ek Bharat initiative.
The programme highlighted paired states Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Programme in-charge Ritu Rastogi introduced students to the major crops of both states. She explained how geography and climate shape farming practices in the region.
Students actively participated and presented folk dances from Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Their performances reflected traditional music, costumes, and regional identity. The presentations received appreciation from teachers and attendees.
Principal Asha Bharti addressed the students during the event. She shared details about the culture, traditions, and social life of both northeastern states. She encouraged students to respect India’s cultural diversity and learn beyond textbooks.
Teachers remained present throughout the programme and guided students during activities. The event aimed to strengthen national integration and cultural understanding among young learners.
The Ek Bharat initiative continues to promote unity through knowledge exchange. Such programmes help students connect with lesser-known regions of the country. The school administration said similar activities will continue in the future to broaden students’ perspectives.
