Microsoft Requires Employees to Work from Office Three Days a Week, starting next year, the company announced in a blog post on Tuesday. The move follows a trend among major tech firms to bring workers back after years of remote work during the pandemic.
The new policy will roll out in three phases. First, employees near Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, will return to the office. Next, the requirement will extend to other US locations, followed by international employees.
Amy Coleman, Microsoft’s chief people officer, explained that workers living within 50 miles of the Redmond office must come in at least three days a week by February 2026. The company said more details for other US offices will be shared soon, while international planning will begin next year.
Microsoft Requires Employees to Work from Office Three Days a Week as part of its effort to balance flexibility with collaboration. The company joins Amazon and other tech giants that are scaling back remote work policies.
This change marks a major shift for Microsoft employees who adapted to remote work during the pandemic, signaling a return to more traditional office routines.
