Minister Adluri Laxman honors Indira Gandhi’s visionary leadership and social reforms on her death anniversary in Telangana.

Telangana Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary on Friday. The event took place at his chamber in the Secretariat, where the Minister garlanded her portrait and remembered her contributions to India’s progress.

Laxman described Indira Gandhi as a symbol of social justice and development. He recalled her “Garibi Hatao” campaign that changed the direction of India’s poverty eradication efforts. He said her 20-point program became a model for rural upliftment and women’s empowerment. She also played a key role in ensuring food security and building a self-reliant India, he added.

The Minister highlighted Indira’s visionary reforms, including bank nationalization, which brought financial access to poor farmers. He said she led India to the forefront of the global stage through diplomatic strength and bold decisions. Her leadership during the 1971 war against Pakistan and victory that led to the surrender of 93,000 soldiers reflected her political courage.

Laxman praised Indira’s foresight in space and nuclear technology. He said the Pokhran nuclear test and Aryabhata satellite launch proved her as a visionary who shaped modern India. He urged today’s youth to understand her comprehensive vision and learn from her enduring legacy.
