Minister Eshwar Khandre Assures ₹10 Crore Grant for Buddhist Cultural Centre at Andur

Karnataka Minister Eshwar Khandre has announced a grant of ₹10 crore for the development of a Buddhist cultural centre at Andur in Kalaburagi district. The funds, he said, would be provided through the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) to promote cultural heritage and tourism in the region.
Speaking at a meeting with local officials and community leaders, Khandre emphasised that the centre would serve as a hub for preserving Buddhist traditions, facilitating research, and hosting cultural events. The project is expected to attract scholars, tourists, and devotees, boosting the local economy while fostering awareness of the region’s rich historical and spiritual heritage.
Officials from the KKRDB have been directed to expedite project planning, ensure transparency in fund allocation, and coordinate with local authorities to complete the centre efficiently. The announcement has been welcomed by the local community, who view it as a significant step towards cultural preservation and regional development.
