Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh will visit Visakhapatnam today to lay the foundation stone for the Sify AI Data Center and an Open Cable Landing Station. The project is being developed by Infinite Spaces Ltd, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based digital technology company Sify Technologies, with an investment of ₹1,500 crore.
The state-of-the-art AI Edge Data Center, to be built in two phases, will have a total capacity of 50 megawatts and is expected to significantly boost the region’s digital infrastructure. The initiative will also generate over 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, strengthening Visakhapatnam’s position as a major IT and data hub in South India.
Minister Lokesh said the project aligns with the government’s vision to make Andhra Pradesh a global destination for technology, innovation, and data-driven industries.
